The principles of venturing out and launching a new business have long been core elements of western civilization.  Today, popular usage of the term “Entrepreneurship” is often sidelining or dismissive of small business.  Yet it is these small businesses which have historically been the driving force behind economic growth and prosperity.

Popular thought in both academic communities and media romanticizes the term entrepreneurship and associates it with the rapid development and explosive growth of a “new” business!

Yet does this popular narrow view of the term exclude the legitimate identification of new business opportunities which small businesses spring up every day to serve?
